ABOUT STOCKHOLM CIVIL SOCIETY DAYS
Exchange of experiences and practices to inspire participants to make change happen.
What is Stockholm Civil Society Days?
SCSD is an international event in Stockholm for practitioners working in or with civil society organisations involved in international development cooperation. SCSD is co-organised by Sida, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, and CONCORD Sweden, platform of CSOs for global development.
The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sida, is a government agency working on behalf of the Swedish parliament and government, with the mission to reduce poverty in the world. Through our work and in cooperation with others, we contribute to implementing Sweden’s Policy for Global Development (PGU).
We work in order to implement the Swedish development policy that will enable poor people to improve their lives. Another part of our mission is conducting reform cooperation with Eastern Europe, which is financed through a specific appropriation. The third part of our assignment is to distribute humanitarian aid to people in need of assistance.
CONCORD Sweden is a platform of 61 organisations. Together we influence the development policies in Sweden and EU, towards a sustainable world. CONCORD Sweden is the Swedish platform of CONCORD, the European CSO confederation for relief and development.
CONCORD Sweden aims to promote cooperation, information-sharing and joint advocacy initiatives between Swedish CSOs and those in other EU countries on development policy and development cooperation issues vis-à-vis the EU institutions. It also aims to act as a platform on other issues that have been jointly agreed upon by its member organisations. Read more about the issues we work with.
