STOCKHOLM CIVIL SOCIETY DAYS 2017
Exchange of experiences and practices to inspire participants to make change happen.
SCSD is an international event in Stockholm for practitioners working in or with civil society organisations involved in international development cooperation. SCSD is co-organised by Sida, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, and CONCORD Sweden, platform of CSOs for global development.
This year´s SCSD focuses on shrinking civic space. The accelerating repression of civic freedoms and democratic space in many countries means that civil society, development cooperation and policy needs to do more, better and braver, and SCSD 2017 is the place to discuss how.
The purpose of SCSD is an exchange of experiences and practices to inspire participants to make change happen. The focus is not on formulating the problem or showcasing glossy achievements, but on questioning old truths and exploring new strategies for action in development cooperation and policy.
When and where is SCSD 2017?
In Stockholm, Sweden on 20-22 September 2017 at Sida main offices on Valhallavägen 199. How to get there.
Who will be there?
Approximately 300 practitioners, representing organisations in Sweden, international partners, other actors involved in Swedish development cooperation, as well as representatives from the bilateral and multilateral donor community. Participants are expected to have prior understanding and experiences to share on the topic of shrinking civic space.
