Nabiela Farouq is an expert in Governance, Gender and Religion. Currently she is an advisor and Deputy Head of Programme for GIZ sector programme Religion, Values and Development as well as Advisor at the PaRD Secretariat for the International Partnership on Religion and Sustainable Development, managing also programmes in Iraq and Jordan. Previously she worked as an advisor for the Afghan Ministry of Higher Education and as a policy analyst for GIZ in Afghanistan. Before she worked for an international scholarship programme at Freiburg University. Nabiela studied Sociology and Middle Eastern Studies in Freiburg, Isfahan and Montreal and holds a M.A. degree in political science.
