Kenneth Nelson is Professor of Sociology at the Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI), Stockholm University. He has written widely on the causes and consequences of welfare states and social policy, often in comparative perspective. His latest book is “The Generational Welfare Contract”, published by Edward Elgar. Professor Nelson is heading the Social Policy Unit at SOFI, and he is the principal investigator of the SPIN-database, and various other research projects. Professor Nelson is board member of the European Social Policy Analysis Network (ESPAnet) and the Foundation for International Studies of Social Security (FISS). He is also vice chairman of the Swedish Sociological Association.
