Mohamed Cheikh Khoumani
Mohamed Cheikh Khoumani is a lawyer and human rights activist and member of the Moroccan Association of Human Rights (MAHR) since 1999. Mohamed is the former president of the MAHR´s southwestern branch. Member of the Commission of Inquiry on the events of the city of Assa (Morocco). Mohamed is also a trade union activist and focuses on advocacy in the issues of economic and social rights. AMDH is one of the biggest Moroccan human rights non-governmental organisations. It was founded to work for the preservation of human rights in Morocco and Western Sahara. It uses different means to achieve this such as by publishing a monthly newspaper, conducting sit-ins and holding conferences. Since its foundation, the AMDH has faced some obstacles coming from the Moroccan authorities but it has managed to continue its operations.
